Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • I confirm that the list and order of authors entered in the submission system are final. I understand that authorship changes after submission or acceptance are not permitted without formal approval from the journal.

Author Guidelines

InfoTech Spectrum: Iraqi Journal of Data Science (IJDS) welcomes submissions from researchers, academics, and professionals in data science and related disciplines. Authors are encouraged to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient submission process.

  • Manuscript Preparation:

Prepare your manuscript in English, following the provided IJDS template available on the journal's website. Clearly state the title, author names, affiliations, and contact information, including email addresses. Provide an abstract (maximum 250 words) summarizing the research's key objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  • Formatting Guidelines:

Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 10-point) and double-spacing throughout the document. Include figures, tables, and equations within the text and ensure they are appropriately labelled and cited. Follow the citation style specified in the IJDS guidelines (IEEE).

  • Submission Process:

Submit your manuscript electronically through the online submission system on the IJDS website. Include a cover letter briefly explaining the significance of the research and confirming that the manuscript is an original work not submitted elsewhere.

  • Ethical Considerations:

Clearly disclose any conflicts of interest or funding sources related to the research. Ensure that the research involving human subjects or animals complies with ethical standards and provides necessary approvals.

  • Peer Review Process:

All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and validity of the research. Authors may be required to address reviewer comments and revise the manuscript accordingly.

  • Copyright and Licensing:

Upon acceptance, authors will be required to transfer the copyright to IJDS. Details on licensing options will be provided.

  • Open Access Policy:

IJDS follows an open-access policy, allowing unrestricted access to published articles. IJDS does not impose any publication fees on authors. We believe in making scientific knowledge freely available without financial barriers.

  • Manuscript Tracking:

Authors can track the status of their submissions through the online submission system. Notifications will be sent at each stage of the review process. Authors are encouraged to review the detailed guidelines and policies on the IJDS website before submitting their manuscripts.

  • Authorship Policy:

The corresponding author is responsible for entering the complete and final list of authors at the time of initial submission. This includes the correct spelling of names, author order, affiliations, and email addresses. The author list and order provided at initial submission are considered final.

Changes to authorship (addition, removal, or reordering of authors) are not permitted after submission except under exceptional circumstances and only with formal written approval from the Editor-in-Chief.

Authorship changes after manuscript acceptance are strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized modification of the author list after acceptance will result in withdrawal of acceptance or rejection of the manuscript.

By submitting a manuscript, the corresponding author confirms that:

  • All listed authors meet the journal’s authorship criteria.
  • No eligible authors have been omitted.
  • All authors have approved the submitted version and author order.
