Plagiarism Policy

InfoTech Spectrum: Iraqi Journal of Data Science (IJDS) is dedicated to upholding the highest academic integrity and originality standards. Plagiarism is considered a serious ethical violation and is not tolerated in any form. The following guidelines outline the journal's policy on plagiarism:

  • Definition of Plagiarism:

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work, ideas, or intellectual property as one's own without proper attribution.

  • Types of Plagiarism:

Plagiarism can take various forms, including but not limited to:

  • Copying verbatim text without quotation marks and proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing without appropriate attribution.
  • Self-plagiarism is when an author republishes their previously published work without proper citation.
  • Plagiarism Detection:

All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism checks using Turnitin tools as part of the editorial review process. The editorial team will thoroughly investigate detected instances of plagiarism.

  • Consequences of Plagiarism:

Manuscripts found to contain significant instances of plagiarism will be rejected outright. In cases of minor plagiarism, authors may be given an opportunity to revise and resubmit their work after proper citation.

  • Confidentiality of Plagiarism Checks:

The results of plagiarism checks will be treated with strict confidentiality by the editorial team. Editors and reviewers are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the plagiarism detection process.

  • Author Responsibility:

Authors are solely responsible for the originality and authenticity of their work. Authors should ensure that all contributions from other sources are appropriately cited and attributed.

  • Self-Plagiarism:

Authors are advised against self-plagiarism, which involves republishing one's own previously published work without proper citation. Any overlap with an author's prior publications must be clearly identified and cited. IJDS is committed to maintaining the trust and integrity of the scholarly record. By implementing stringent plagiarism checks, we aim to foster an environment of academic honesty and ensure that published research reflects the genuine contributions of authors.

Authors are invited to submit their research to IJDS. We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.
